The Department of Recreation and Leisure Industry Management (DRLIM) is to develop well-educated citizens that provide healthful leisure and recreation experiences at the region, national, and international levels in order to improve quality of life, provide leadership and service to communities, and contribute to the advancement of the profession. DRLIM is concerned with the many aspects of human movement and its application to sport management, leisure and recreational activity, and the quality of life. Within DRLIM students have the opportunity to study in one of several focused areas of sport, leisure, and recreational management. Our degree programs prepare students to compete successfully for careers in the allied leisure and recreational industries, public systems, and sport management positions.

Mission

Our primary goal in setting the guiding principles of this department are as follows: 1. Establish a basic sport, recreation and leisure industry study guideline which will help students learn to maintain and adhere to a long-term vision during a development process. 2. Work hands-on in development of sport, recreation and leisure industry of Taiwan to stress the importance of resource management, and assist the local government to develop sport, recreation and leisure business. 3. Pursue to become a top tier graduate program of sport, recreation and leisure industry in Taiwan, and develop the most qualified graduate students to work for the government or sport, recreation and leisure industry related fields to help improve the quality of life for the people of Taiwan. 4. Interact with other related departments including the departments of Sports and Exercise Management, Natural Resources, Policy, Culture and International Relationship, Sports Health Communication, Education, Economics, and others in order to provide a comprehensive and well-rounded research and study environment.
